Lecturer:
Mr. Lai Chee Kin
Overview of module:
This modulde includes the financial information system, capital investment, capital budgeting, financial forcasting, financial ratio analysis and so on. We were given one group assignment and one mid term test for this module
What I have gained from this module:
Discipline Specific Knowledge
Frankly speaking, the terms used in this module were very new to me. By listening te lecture and doing the tutorial, I am able to understand the theories behind the terms.
Lifelong Learning
This module required students to be more independent and able to extract the information get from the account and analyze them effectively. For me, I have learnt how to extract the main points via the group assignment, where we were given a word limits of 1,800 words to complete a financial analyze repor.
Thinking and Problem Solving Skills
Thinking and problem solving skills are gained during the presentation of our group work. Lecturer has prompt us with few questions during the Q&A session for presentation and this required us to think critically and creatively in order to provide the most effective answers to the questions.
Communication skills
We were required to communicate within the group mates in order to keep the group on track on whats happening in each of our resepctive part.
Interpersonal skills
We are able to practice our leadership skills, especially during the initial stage of the assignment. I have learnt how to distribute the workload to the right person besides tracking others progress during the assignment period.
Digital literacy
My group has incorporated with the 'flat 2D design' trend to produce the financial report. Many apps such as Piktochart, Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Excel, Photoshop and so on were used.
Conclusion:
We do and learn something new from it. No try, no gain.
